The beer poured a medium amber, clear, minute head with slight carbonation.
The bouquet has quite a bit of caramel malt with back notes of grains. The caramel tones really overpowered the rest of the bouquet. The taste is initially caramel, but the finish is of dry grains and bready yeast.
The body is on the heavier side of medium, as the taste really takes over the old buds. The beer also cloys a bit, but this really does not detract from the drinking.
This is a tasty beer that is good cold, but really workd well under English conditions. I plan to have more of this during the summer!

Fruity yeast character over carmelized malt with some rye bitterness in the finish. Nejhleader (930), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 31, 2008 Very clear amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Butterscotch, caramel, toffee, with grainy hints. More butterscotch flavor, light grain, and faint rye hints finally shining through. Medium light body with moderately low carbonation. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 30, 2008 Mostly clear auburn poor supporting a thin dusky white head with little retention. Not much to write home about in the aroma save for some notes of mildly toasted malt and hay. Flavor is similar to a straight up pale with some lingering toffee and vanilla cream. Thin texture and unmenorable finish. All of that said, this isn’t a bad beer but it’s only as rare as a taxi in Brooklyn. Jayb0 (752), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2008 Light copper, almost no head, almost no lace, almost no nose other than the rye. Taste of rye and some sweetness, only a touch of bitterness. Thin in the mouth. After al the apparent negatives, it’s a nice enough beer, easy to drink, no obvious flaws. Wouldn’t buy another, but nothing to complain about. An extra point for being low alcohol ... nice in a lawn mower beer. This is definitely better than Red Hook Sun Rye. Pour was a nice red with a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was very caramelly which I must assume is the rye. Sweet butterscotch on the aftertaste. Could use a little more carbonation, but all in all a decent beer,
