On draft at a Lancaster (Pa) Barnstomers game. This was a very good beer. Taste of Rye was absolutely present. Very hardy beer. It was well needed after a long day of "amish" country shopping with family on vaca.

So I picked this up from Capone’s the other day and decided to give it a try. The beer poured a medium amber, clear, minute head with slight carbonation. The bouquet has quite a bit of caramel malt with back notes of grains. The caramel tones really overpowered the rest of the bouquet. The taste is initially caramel, but the finish is of dry grains and bready yeast. The body is on the heavier side of medium, as the taste really takes over the old buds. The beer also cloys a bit, but this really does not detract from the drinking. This is a tasty beer that is good cold, but really workd well under English conditions. I plan to have more of this during the summer!

Bottle courtesy of beerman6686. Pours copper with a white creamy head. Smells of rye, spice, yeasty, some citrus, fruity. Tastes of rye, some sweet caramel, earthy, some bitterness. Nice spicy finish. I’m not sure why this has such low marks as it is a good beer.

Had this at the Harrisburg brewfest. Appearance - amber color with a mostly diminished head. Aroma - mostly pine and resin. Taste - bitter, dry and noit much hoppiness. Mouthfeel - dry. Ok as an IPA, ut not something I would go our of my way to drink or find.

Deeper shade of amber with a small head and modest lacing. Subdued, caramel malt aroma with a hint of soft fruit easing its way in. The rye comes across as lightly toasted and grainy, but also serves as a crisp, dry palate cleanser. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated. Finish lingered and provided another touch of the rye flavor.

Bottle - Amber colored beer with white head. Caramel malty aroma. The flavor is quite creamy with rye and malt flavor. It reminds me of a British bitter.

Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer pours a deep copper color, with a small white head. Aromas of caramel come through in the nose, balanced by just a touch of west coast hops (cascade?). The palate is complimentary as both a summer refresher, as well as in general as a year-round beer. Notes of malt and caramel/toffee come through, with a dry and slightly bitter finish. Underrated.

This beer was a little suprising. I was thinking it was going to be a darker color with more body and lots of rye flavor. But it really wasn’t. It poured a golden color with a white head and good lacing. The nose featured a little breadiness and rye tones. The body was a little lighter than expected, but had some good rye notes and flavors to it. The flavors also contained a little more breadiness but with quite a bit of hoppiness. The finish was crisp and refreshing, with a bit more hoppiness and rye. A pretty decent summer-type of beer.
