The_Captain (339), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 Bottle in Lancaster - Poured a clear amber brown, small head that simmered away quickly, no real lacing. Grains and rye on the pallet with a little bit of pale bitterness. Malt smoothness that was rather nice. Pared well with ribs. Low-even carbonation dry finish.
Beerman6686 (782), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2008 Poured an orangish yellow color with a white head. Aroma was really sweet and malty with some caramel and rye showing through. Flavor was pretty bland, seemed just like apremium lager with a little biut more flavor, not really any rye flavor at all. lebshiff21 (41), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 26, 2008 Bottle. Light amber in color, offwhite head. Malty sweetness abounds on the palate along with a little grain, not enough for my liking. I swear all the beers that Lion Brewery does taste similar - I think it’s the water. LiebeBier (745), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Aug 24, 2008 Bottle - Amber colored beer with white head. Caramel malty aroma. The flavor is quite creamy with rye and malt flavor. It reminds me of a British bitter. moseslikesbeer (171), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2008 bottle. Red color with thin head. aroma of rice or earthy nose. Taste of caramel and slight hops. Nice brew. The_Beer_God (2859), Newport News, Virginia, USA Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Amber pour. Aroma is fruity, earthy with light caramel, rye and sweet malts. Taste is malty, semi-sweet, mild sourness/tartness, slightly hoppy, more earthiness and some soft grains. Rye is there but not overbearing. Body is medium with a creamy carbonation. Ends with more caramel, toasted and semi-sweet malts, soft earth and fruit and rye grains. The tartness fades here as well. Good stuff!
