jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Oct 10, 2009 From the tap poured brown with a small head. Sweet malty flavor with a quick finish. Cruzan59 (197), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 2, 2009 Draft sampler at Bully’s Restaurant & Pub, Columbia, PA...dark brown in color, beige head...mild scents of chocolate, toffee...flavor of chocolate, some coffee, brown sugar, vanilla...on the dry side, somewhat of a thin mouthfeel...I guess since I’ve actually had shoo-fly pie I expected something a bit more sweet and robust, but this was still pretty good, standard Porter...went down fast...their Milk Stout is better. kramer (2406), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA May 20, 2009 Sampler, at Lancaster location. Pours a clear very dark brown body with a small light brown head. Nice chocolate malt and molassas nose, it really does remind me of Shoo-fly pie. The flavor is molassas dominated with a great balance between the sweet malt and the bitterness from the molasses. Some roasted malt, coffee and just a little bit of hops showing up late in the finish. Th mouthfeel is great, not overly full or sticky like I was expecting, with soft fizzy carbonation. This was the hit of the bunch for me, wish I would have gotten a growler of it to go. adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 7, 2009 On draft at Capones. Pours a dark cola with ruby red tints and a creamy medium sized beige head. Aroma of malts, faint chocolate and a touch of molasses. Taste is malty with hints of chocolate and a touch of molasses. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 2, 2009 Draft at capones. Pours a burne body with a tan head. Chewy coco malt, light roast y coffee character with a noticeable licorice and berry. A dry but somewhat robust finish. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 16, 2009 Growler from Craft Ale. Pours deep brown with nose of dark roasty malt, dark choc, some rauchy notes. Tastes roasty dark malty predominantly, with definite cherred rauchy malt notes, some cacao, fig, blackberry, and a smooth palate, never going sweet but staying roasty, rauchym, and blackberryish. Very nice. Nejhleader (924), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 11, 2009 Thought the body seemed a bit thin, didn’t really taste molasses like the description says. Taste was just kinda darker malts and a bit of caramel, an aftertaste of darker malts. Not as good as the description makes it sound. KornDogg (168), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 10, 2009 Not a Shoo-Fly porter.... no molasses flavor... nothing more then a basic malty, coffee noted porter... highly disappointing
