Wheat beers always make me sneeze, and this one’s no exception. The strawberry aspect really takes on more of a sour and sweet side to the beer. I couldn’t do this one all of the time, but I can definetly drink many of these in one sitting without getting sick of them. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA

For me, the fruit flavor was kind of chalky textured and rock candy sweet. This wasn’t a terrible beer, but it wasn’t much fun to drink and has few redeeming quailities besides an interestingly sharp, acidic, wheat-berry aroma. Parrothead (185), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA

The strawberry is way too candy-like. For some reason, this one is on tap as often as Hop Hog, Amish Four Grain, or Pils. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 22, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with hopdog, thanks Steve!) Okay, I don’t know what the hell just came out of this bottle, but there were a few dozen huge flakes of something alien in my beer. I didn’t swirl the bottle, but I guess it’s yeast, and now the tan-green things are floating on top of the head like the beer is moldy. Just gross looking. Otherwise, it’s a clear amber color, topped by a small off-white head, and propped up by a massive supply of carbonation bubbles rushing upward through the beer. Whatever flakes remain suspended in the beer are churned around like some sort of electric snow glove. The beer smells like stinky feet, with no apparent aroma of strawberry. But unlike my previous bottle of this beer, this time the beer isn’t infected. It’s still a somewhat boring beer with a generic American Wheat beer flavor, a mild bitterness, and a touch of tartness that’s presumably from the fruit, although there is precious little in the way of strawberry flavor, real or artificial. The aftertaste is pretty unpleasant, and a slight soapiness knocks on my door uninvited. The body is fairly light, but the excessive carbonation doesn’t make for a very enjoyable mouthfeel. It doesn’t seem to matter whether their Strawberry Wheat is infected or not, either way, it’s not a pleasant beer. And I hope I don’t get sick from this nasty looking stuff on top either. pbjclimber (150), Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 20, 2005 I had a growler of this and the beer poured an amber color and had a large white head that had good lacing. There was a distinct strawberry taste with a little lingering tartness. I ended up letting girls finish the growler and they thought it was a great beer. Pours a slightly hazy light golden amber with a small lacing white head. Aromas is strawberry and wheat...a bit weak overall. Flavor is a somewhat artificial strawberry. Also picking up some vanilla. Almost like a strawberry soda. Maybe I need to try more beers so that I can be more critical with it. I am definetly a "beginner" 5000 (2540), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 9, 2005 Bottle: Dull golden, cloudy, large frothy white head, spotty lacing.   Sour or tart nose, nestle quik or strawberry charleston chew on the nose.   Perhaps its that strawberry meal replacement powder that I smell.   Yeah, it smells somewhat artificial.   Nice wheaty tartness on the tongue, with an underlying unripened strawberry.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Flavor is long gone by the finish, but this one still remains tart.   Not bad...
