Aroma has some creamy malt with some moderate strawberry with light tartness. Pours a hazy amber with a huge white head with excellent retention. Flavor has more malt than I expect in a fruit wheat beer. Creamy with some light caramel. Strawberry comes more in the finish and is a tad tart, but is also a little on the light side. Doesn’t seem to blend well with the grassy hops that also appear in the finish. Quite an impressive looking beer, but offers little else. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA

Smells of perfume with a touch of strawberry. Taste is light and fizzy with a touch of strawberry essence. A bit dry... nothing much here at all. Body is overcarbonated. Not very impressive. When cold, this has a mild wet dog aroma with strawberry struggling to come through. When warm, the aroma is all strawberry shortcake. When cold, the flavor profile is reminiscent of a light lager with some artificial strawberry flavoring. When warm, it is exactly what I imagine strawberry shortcake would taste like from a blender. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 4, 2005 12oz. bottle. Clear amber color with a small white head. Awful aroma of butter and strawberries. Lots of diacetyl. Butter didn’t come out as strong in the flavor as the aroma, but was still there. Unpleasant strawberry aftertaste. Could not finish. hershiser2 (914), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 30, 2005 Bottle. Pours pretty golden with a small head. Smell of a strawberry candy in the nose- not as fkae-smelling as Pete’s strawberry brew, but doesn’t smell real either. Flavor is more wheaty than fruity. Kinda plain and bland. First smell was good, Strawberry smell very strong. During drinking I couldn’t really taste the strawberry’s at all, the wheat was def. the overpowering flavor. The beer did go down smooth. cazort (418), Newark, Delaware, USA

The strawberry flavour blends very well with the wheat. Not bitter, but not too sweet either. Surprised me, pleasantly. zach8270 (2122), Henrietta, New York, USA

Very slight smell of those strawberry candies I remember from when I was a little kid. You know, the ones that came in the wrapper that actually looked like a strawberry. Anyways, it smelled like that. Not too strong and rather pleasant. The taste is very run of the mill for fruit/wheat beers. Slightly sweet and candy-like taste of strawberries with a dry and slightly sour wheat and yeast taste at the end. Very fizzy.
