Berry aroma, nice deep golden appearance, sweetness dominates the flavor. Like many other fruit beers I’ve sampled Lancaster Strawberry Wheat left a filmy substance on my teeth after consuming. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 17, 2004 Light amber color with a smallish off white head. The nose is the most intriguing part of this brew. Starts with a mild cherry aroma and gradually works it way to rudy red grapefruit, with unripe strawberry and sour apple aromas in-between. Hints of sweet wheat underneath. Not a great bouquet, but very interesting. Big difference in the flavor with sweet malt dominating the front and a sharp bitterness in the finish. Reminds me of a berliner weisse mit schuss, only with a strawberry syrup. Thanks DocLock. TheBeerGod (3171), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 25, 2004 Pours a reddish amber with a small white head. There are lots of particles suspended in this. Aroma is very fruity with a strong aroma of strawberry. There is a sour hint to it as well. It kind of reminds me of fruit mixed with sour milk. The taste is wheaty with a fruit flavored backbone. Doesn’t necessarily taste like strawberries. Mouthfeel is light enough and is a bit refreshing but carbonated. Finish seems all grain and not much else. The fruit flavors have almost disappeared by the time I get here. Decent beer. mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2004 Light-medium bodied, just a touch of strawberry, not too sweet which is good for me. Very drinkable on a hot day. Crockett (904), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 3, 2004 Pours hazy yellow amber. Big white head. Some sediment. Wheaty and light lemon aroma. Mild fruit tart and hop florals. Some grass or tea flavours. Dull malt. Quite thin and boring. Why won’t people learn: Strawberries........ don’t taste like anything (unless you add a bunch of sugar). I wouldn’t have even detected the berries unless I was looking for them. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2004 On tap at the ODBF 2004. Clear amber, small white head. Have tried this many times over the years, and the aromas and flavors are always the same. Capt’n Crunch Crunchberries! No seriously. Add some light strawberry wheat notes and you get my drift. Light to medium-bodied, fizzy carbonation, fruity sweet finish. A summer session brew if it’s your thing...
