Commercial Description:
Our classic Olde Ale redefines the term "bull-bodied" with its deliverance of complex and firm malt flavor. A fine blend of British and American hops provides an even bitterness as this beer finishes with a warming alcohol flavor.

12oz bottle via trade with hopdog. Aroma: Caramel, dark fruits, and a big whiff of yeast. Some earthy hops, too. Appearance: Chestnut brown in color and fairly hazy. Light beige head was full and frothy with fair retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Nice bready malt flavor with a strong dose of caramel, dark fruits and toasted nuts. Light bitterness. Semi-sweet finish. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Light alcohol warming in back of mouth. Overall: Aroma sold this beer short. Alot more going on in the flavor then the nose lets on. Alcohol very well hidden. Not bad.

12oz bottle, courtesy of hopdog. Thanks, Steve! Pours a murky, dark yellowish-brown color; off-white head with big-bubbled lacing. Smells like plastic, cardboard, and cold water - I’m not catching anything from the aroma here. The mouthfeel is tart and crisp upfront, leading into dried fruits and caramel; nougat, marshmallow, and vanilla; far more complexity here than in the nose. Medium, candy sugar and citrus hop finish.

Bottle: Ruddy brown in color with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, earthy and grassy hops. Flavor, caramel, some mild grassy hops, with a moderate bitterness on the finish. Pretty average.

12 oz bottle sampled from drewbeerme in one of our many rating sessions. Brown red in color with a wispy head. Not too visually appealing let me take a sniff oh ... awful yeasty aroma. were they trying for a belgian with this yeast and forgot to cold condition it? I don’t know whats going on here but this beefy yeast is going to be hard to get past. Bakers chocolate flavors sweet malts and damn it, I can’t stop smelling that yeast. Bakers chocolate finish and yeast probably on my breath.

From bottle courtesy of hopdog. Pours a deep brown with thin tan head. Nose of dark fruit and coco. Flavor follows with a nice bitter finish. Palate is a little thin, but smooth. Pretty good.

Bottle from Cornboy, Thanks; mose is sweet, dark fruit and caramel; clear cherry brown with a small beige head; flavor of caramel malt, a mocha hint, and a hop note in the medium body. The finish is minor hops bitterness and some alcohol.

12oz bottle, thanks to hopdog for this extra. pours a dark mahogony with small head. aroma is a has lots of beefy yeast and malts. pretty gross. flavor is much better, big malty backbone with slight hop bitterness. alcohol is amazingly well hidden. a solid beer that losses a lot from aroma.

12oz bottle via trade with hopdog! - Thanks Steve!! - Pours dark brown with a short offwhite head that stays briefly and leaves little lace. Aromas of caramel and light chocolate with many earthy notes. Flavor is pretty much righ on with the aroma. Smooth full bodied brew with a somewhat dry finish.
