Commercial Description:
Our classic Olde Ale redefines the term "bull-bodied" with its deliverance of complex and firm malt flavor. A fine blend of British and American hops provides an even bitterness as this beer finishes with a warming alcohol flavor.

Bottle at the black and white party december 2005. Pours a ruby body with a tan head. Lots of fruit cherry, plum and a spicy hop bitterness. Light oak and cinnamon.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of malts, alcohol, grains, smoke, tobacco, light roasting, burnt caramel, light fruit, slight metal, light raisin, and slight nuts. Poured deep ruby/light brown in color with a medium to large sized, dense, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of dark ripe fruits, plums, caramel, light smoke, slight chocolate, slight tobacco, and light molasses. Medium body. Coating, sticky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet, caramel and tobacco finish.

Bottle. It is just too sweet. some subtle flavors of Rhubarb and dark chocolate, but not one I would recommend. The malt is overwhelmed. rated 2.4 Had this on Tap and it was like it was a different beer. Nice Head, that Held, Port color, nice malt fragrance, not as sweet, justb right, some lacing, nice alcohol and caramel mix.

I had high expectations. Do not like, not for me. Very thick and tastes of bourbon. Hope others enjoy it more then I did.

Thanks to JoeMcphee for this one! Cloudy brown pour with a think tan head. Caramel and bourbon on the nose. Very similar flavor with notable hints of oak and fruit

Poured a cloudy dark brown color with an off white head. Aroma is of a lot of spices, probably cinnamon, some nuts, cloves, just very nice. Flavor was also very spicy, seems more like spice/herb/vegetable than old ale but very good at that.

7-5-08 bottle
Semi thick red brown with no lasting head at all. Smell is very light sweetness - almost fruity with a touch of caramel. Flavor is light sweetness as well. Not bad and surely drinkable. Smell starts to have some cardboard in there as you continue to drink. Medium to high carbonation. Overall, not great, but drinkable.

Bottle in trade from unknown source. Thanks thought!
Pours a dark brownish maroon color with no lasting head. Smell is rich and caramelly and fruity as well. Taste is a touch bland, watery, and caramel like with some raspberry fruitiness. Easy drinking and medium bodied with bubbly carbonation. Pretty decent beer actually.
