Commercial Description:
Our classic Olde Ale redefines the term "bull-bodied" with its deliverance of complex and firm malt flavor. A fine blend of British and American hops provides an even bitterness as this beer finishes with a warming alcohol flavor.

Pours a transparent copper amber with a spotty-lacing frothy tan head. Aroma of toasty caramely malt with a hint of tart oranges and grain. Body starts with a fairly full, viscous, earthy maltiness and a smooth, slightly dark fruity finish. Fairly true to style, but not that interesting.

Pours a dark amber color with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits, and some spices. Flavor was sweet roasted and malty with a touch of smoke. alcohol was well hidden. Not a bad winter warmer.

The alcohol was well hidden. The aroma wasn’t really overwhelming. The flavor was a good combination of hops, caramel, and spices. Couldn’t believe it was 9%. Solid brew.

Bottle. Dark amber pour with a light tan head. Aroma of light smoke, caramel malt and some light earthy hops. Falvor was a bit of moke, some peat, caramel malt and earthy hops. Medium body with a earthy/bitter/clean finish.

Bottle from a friend. Pours an amber color with a small off white head. Aroma of toffee, caramel and spicies. Taste is malty with a sweet undertone. Flavors of fermented fruit peaks though at the end. Finishes with a little hop bitterness.

Rich Brown with Red Hues...Light Sandy Ring. Rich Syrapy Caramel, Fruit and Spices on the Nose... Mouthfeel is Oxidized...and a Bit Light... A Biting bitterness on the Back of the Tongue... Alcohol is Subtle.. Bready Malt Notes...Toasted...Caramel/Toffee...Fruit...and Lightly Spiced. This Was Probably a Bad Bottle...But From What Can Be Tasted...on a Better Day, This is Probably a Nice Winter Warmer.

12 oz bottle courtesy of hopdog… thanks. Very dark brown beer with a tint of orange/ruby. Off-white head. Aroma is quite nice, sweet dark bread, toast and sweet spices. Almonds and toasted nuts. There is also a light tart lactic note on the nose as well. Flavour is sweeter than the nose would suggest. Dark toast, sweet plums and a touch of bitter chocolate on the back. Warming alcohol and sweet cinnamon, nutmeg and anise. Nice brew.

12 oz bottle from trade with Ty5592. Pour is layered with amber and a dark murky brown. Little tan head that is not retained. Nose is very sweet-honey and toasted malts stand out with a little fruity something in there. Flavor is sweet, chewy malts with a strong yeast presence and a side of water. Blah. Can taste a little alcohol in the finish. Balance could be improved upon. What is beefy yeast?
