Commercial Description:
Our classic Olde Ale redefines the term "bull-bodied" with its deliverance of complex and firm malt flavor. A fine blend of British and American hops provides an even bitterness as this beer finishes with a warming alcohol flavor.

Can you tell "I Love This Stuff," Awesome body with great maltiness and just the right hint of hops. This one warms your cockles.

Dark red almost brown body with no real head on top. Aroma is clean, chocolatey, caramel, plum and spice. Taste is one heck of a ride. It gets you wit some sweetness at first, plum, cherry and grape, then some earth roasted pete notes. Next you’re treated to a chocolatey warmth and and then it closes full circle with more of the fruity sweetness. Palate is delicate at first, then it hits with a notch of bitterness, then calms down in the end. This is one hell of a good winter beer. I wish I had picked up a sixer of these instead of a single.

Poured a nice head, Nice Aroma, Nice Color. It wasn’t spiked with spices, which was nice. It tastes like three beers in one, a lambic sweet start, a stoudt body and a porter finish. Long finish. I’ve had the Lancaster Milk Stoudt, and has that ’Lancaster’ Taste.

I had an opportuntiy to try this on tap at the Lancater Brewing Co in Harrishurg. I tried many beers there over the weekend I was in town. This was by far my favorite. Appearance was a see through black/brown, wasn’t too sure at first look. Only a little foam which quickly dissipated. Smell was a malty, toasty with maybe a hint of smoke. Taste started a nice toasty malt with some caramel, and a hint of fruit. The alcohol takes over in the middle providing some warmth which is quickly taken over by a relatively (for an ale) crisp finish. I really enjoyed this beer, and found it highly drinkable for a higher alcohol beer.

This is an excellent WW. Ruby pour, with aroma of malt, toffee, caramel, fruit, and yes, tobacco. The aroma reminds me of Stoudt’s Fest. Tastes very complex, with hops, fruit (cherries, berries), oak, spice, pipe tobacco, and a warming finish. Just awesome.

Bottle. Dark brown with a nice-sized head. Aromas of milk chocolate... almost smells like chocolate milk- with hints of raisens and licorice. The flavor is full of rich deep chocolates, coffees, and a hint of caramel. Reminds me a bit of the Milk Stout, which I happen to love.

Pleasantly surprised with this tasty Winter Warmer. Pours a ebony brown color. Forms a solid 2" creamy and thick light tan head with superb retention. Thick rings of lacing adhere to the sides of the glass. Rich and fruity aromas of raisins, figs, dates, molasses and brown sugar are noted upfront with some faint notes of coffee and caramel. Full and thick mouthfeel; very smooth and creamy. Flavor profile is predominantly sweet with lots of dark dried fruit, balck licorice, molasses and burnt caramel candies. Just a touch of hop bitterness and well hidden alcohol emerge to tame the sugary sweetness. For $8.99 per sixer from Stateline in MD this is a great value big winter ale.
