Aug 14, 2004 [At Fete de la Biere 2004, Lausanne] A black beer with a small lasting brown head. It has no aroma, but the flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and brewmash.

Jan 25, 2004 Bottled. Burgundy colour, creamy head. Chocolatey, lightly smokey nose. Softly malty, and a bitterish finish. A discrete but enjoyable beer.

May 1, 2005 Updated: Jun 23, 2005(Bottle 33 cl) "Biere de blé noir" - a beer brewed with dark malts, but actually it’s not really that dark. Presumably brewed with buckwheat. Very malty and pleasant with a slightly acidic edge reminding me of a flemish sour ale. Big lumps of yeast in the sediment, not really appetizing. But still an excellent beer. But a "Stout"???

Dark brown coloured with a small beige head.
Acidic aroma of buck wheat with roasted notes and notes of raisins.
Watery roasted flavour with notes of nuts and coffee.
Not bad, but to me, it’s more a schwarzbier than a stout.
