JorisPPattyn (4216), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 26, 2008 Brown-black beer with a good brown-cream head, reasonably persistent. Typical "black wheat"/grains nose; grainacidity in the nose already (different from wheat), very slightly spicy, but mostly grainy. Beautiful, near excellent roasted/carbonised dark grain taste with a slight rum-like background. Just great - remembered justly so.Gristslickness, rather well-bodied despite the lower ABV. One of Brittany’s classicals, one of the first to open my eyes to beers from the south, and still a great one.
oberabcbbsok (633), Hoboken, Belgium Jun 30, 2008 Tastd on Bottle at beertasting in Antwerp at Kulminator. A nice stout with not lot of alcohohol CapedBrewsader (174), Brasschaat, Belgium Jun 16, 2008 Bottled Harpe Noire. 75cl bottle at Het Blauwershof: Dark chestnut brown. Tall tan and very creamy head. Aroma of smooth chocolate. Upfront roasted malts with a touch of smoke and even meat. Mild earthy spice plays well with the smoke and roast characters. Flavor of spiced dark malts with low chocolate and some raisin. Roast comes in a little more in the middle followed by hop bitterness. Light herbal astringency. A bit sharp at times. Long dry roast with sugary finish. CO2 a bit aggressive at times. pumpmaster (246), Florida, USA Apr 4, 2008 33cl bottle purchased at La cave a Bulles Paris, France for 2.60EURO after Simon’s great help. Very good. mgoy (263), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Mar 18, 2008 Lancelot Telenn Du is a deep broen/black beer with a nice caramel head. The aroma is faint and neither enjoyable or negative. The flavor is nicely malted even though this Stout is full of extra unnecessary carbonation.
