Aroma of light roast caramel malt, rich but muted resiny hops, bit of grain - nice APA, slightly roastier than some. Taste starts balanced between the roast malt and resiny hops, then the hops begin to dominate - they’re rich, resiny-grapefruity, and gently insistent, gets a hint of orange pekoe on warming. Mouthfeel dry, creamy and astringent, decent body. Very solid APA, would be amazing on cask. Lubiere (4525), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2005 Hazy reddish amber ale with almost no head. In aroma, faint caramel and floral hops. In mouth, more of a classy american ale with nice sustained hops with citrus notes, and good caramel base malt. Wooden notes develop as beer warms. Medium bodied. Bottle is one yr old, from Syracuse. shadey (1498), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 1, 2005 Dark ruby color with a thin white silky head. Aroma is doughy and hoppy as wierd a combo as that is, it works. The flavor is big for a beer that seems so small. Def smokey. Very interesting and quite nice. I like it. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 14, 2005 A brown/red beer with a large, small bubbled tan head that lasted. When held up to the light , some light came through, but not enough to show my fingers holding the glass. The hops came through first and then a good malt flavor. It was lip-smacking good and left a slightly bitter aftertaste. pobenohne (504), Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA

Absolutely delicious IPA with a red twist - just a hint of nuttiness that characterizes the best Irish reds. Knockout hop presense! mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

Fresh American hop nose, a little citrus or grapefruit note. Carmel malt flavors with a really big grapefruity citrus hop flavor and bitterness. Fresh hoppy finish. Very drinkable and would be something to drink as a nice session ale. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Bottle: Pours a brown with hints of red color and a very thick head, not much in the way of carbonation or lacing. Aroma is of malts, bread. the mouthfeel is thin for the flavor of a red/irish ale, I’m not sure what warrents the classifications, but I’m suprised to see it listed as an APA, although it is a unique twist on one, that is rather successful. The flavor consists of a malty, caramel, a little on the hoppy side for an APA _ I still think this may need to be reclassified as an IPA.
