| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2004 (12 oz bottle, obtained in trade with jah noth, thanks Dan!) IPA? APA? Red Ale? All three perhaps? Hell, it could even be a brown ale. Okay, well, I think I’d rule out APA, as this is too roasty. This is a tough one to characterize, all right, combining a moderate roastiness up front, which is then joined by a fairly prominent hoppiness, and it finishes with a pretty substantial bitterness. Minimally sweet for the duration. Medium bodied with a dry palate. This beer smells quite roasty, and also earthy, like a pile of dried leaves in autumn. Dark amber or light brown in color, kind of the color of an Oktoberfest actually. Small off-white head quickly settles to a bubbly rim around the edge of the glass. Just a hint of a rim of lace at the top of the glass, then nothing below it. Interesting, flavorful, and enjoyable enough, but a bit too dry for my tastes. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2004 On Tap: Aroma hints at some citrus and the flavor is hoppy with a bittering towards the end. Decent malt flavor is present but not overpowering. JFGrind (1354), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2004 I agree with ’mribm’, this beer sure tastes like SN Celebration Ale. Only thing this beer borrows from an Irish Ale is its red color. Piney hop nose greets you after opening this heavily (dry) hopped IPA. Not much on the malts, bitterness dominates this beer brewed by River Horse Brewery for Landmark. I liked this beer but had to give it a point off due to its Irish Ale side not to be found. raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2004 As the description states, the combination of IPA and red ale does make this a unique brew - although, it mostly tasted lika a standard IPA. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 2, 2004 Pine, mild citrus-orange hops and big malt with lots of fruity esters in the aroma. Clear burnished copper coloured body with off-white head that recedes to lasting cover with plenty of lacing. Plenty of orange-pine hop flavour up front that melts into a gorgeous full malt body with fair bitterness and lasting herbal, earthy, resiny hops on the tongue. What a ride! Creamy in the mouth with mildly engaging carbonation. Solidly medium body. Excellent. I’m going to Syracuse. Bottle. Thanks, CapFlu! 5000 (2625), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2004 Bottle pours a deep dull copper, small fizzly white head, fairly attractive lacing, with soft carbonation. Fresh hops & slight grapefruit on the nose. Flavor is of a sharp hop bitterness, no real citrus, and light malts. Decent body, moderate mouthfeel. Finishes with a lingering hop bitterness, slight malt, but not much else. Crisp, kinda clean albeit a somewhat muddled earthy/dirt hint that I get. Not bad, but rather simple. Thanks goes out to jah noth for the trade!

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 29, 2004 12 oz. Bottle. This beer is almost an exact duplicate of Sierra Nevada’s Celebration Ale. There were slightly less hops, slightly more malt and a smaller head. The hoppiness of this ale was surrounded by a solid malty background. Very tasty and worth another try!
