There were slightly less hops, slightly more malt and a smaller head. The hoppiness of this ale was surrounded by a solid malty background. Very tasty and worth another try! jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA

Fruity ringwood aroma with a soft bouquet of floral hops. Light amber/orange in color, filtered, with lots of effervescent bubbles. Sour malt flavor, fruity with resinous and piney hops. Orange finish. This is nice beer, a real winner from this new brewery. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA

Fresh American hop nose, a little citrus or grapefruit note. Carmel malt flavors with a really big grapefruity citrus hop flavor and bitterness. Fresh hoppy finish. Very drinkable and would be something to drink as a nice session ale. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 2, 2004 Pine, mild citrus-orange hops and big malt with lots of fruity esters in the aroma. Clear burnished copper coloured body with off-white head that recedes to lasting cover with plenty of lacing. Plenty of orange-pine hop flavour up front that melts into a gorgeous full malt body with fair bitterness and lasting herbal, earthy, resiny hops on the tongue. What a ride! Creamy in the mouth with mildly engaging carbonation. Solidly medium body. Excellent. I’m going to Syracuse. Bottle. Thanks, CapFlu! Grandpa (325), Verona, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 14, 2005 A brown/red beer with a large, small bubbled tan head that lasted. When held up to the light , some light came through, but not enough to show my fingers holding the glass. The hops came through first and then a good malt flavor. It was lip-smacking good and left a slightly bitter aftertaste. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 1, 2005 Dark ruby color with a thin white silky head. Aroma is doughy and hoppy as wierd a combo as that is, it works. The flavor is big for a beer that seems so small. Def smokey. Very interesting and quite nice. I like it. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

Absolutely delicious IPA with a red twist - just a hint of nuttiness that characterizes the best Irish reds. Knockout hop presense!
