The vanilla aroma hits you immediately and is prominent in your mouth. This is a great beer to savor and won’t break the bank when you stock-up.

Really not much of a head when poured out of the bottle. a really nice brown color but not murky. All in all, not a bad brew MesandSim (5946), London, Greater London, England
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 30, 2009 A Sim rate (bottle from Whole Foods Bowery): Smells unpleasantly bland. Maybe it’s that slightly metallic aroma you get from a mass-produced lager. Not really sure. But it’s certainly not vanilla. No sweetness at all. Flavour is a bit better, but not much. It’s bitter toffee, citric acid and a tinge of sweet roast. You really have to work to taste the flavours. Palate is carb and stings a bit. Not sure I like that feeling. Overall, it’s a bit of a letdown... especially for something with "vanilla" in the name. Mediocre at best. Sammy (4056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A medium mouthfeel brown freshly tapped at Kelly Cole’s Improper, with the Landmark rep. A claim that it’s pure vanilla, it could be. First sample off the tap was sour, so we will ignore that. A bit milky at first and then carmel body and full carbonation felt in the finish. Dickinsonbeer (3499), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 17, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep amber brown and a foamy overcarbed head- with little lace. Aroma is cardboardy oxidized, light stale vanilla hints, light toast and dry nuttyness, salty stale crackers, ligth olive brine, and slight infection. Carbonation explodes in mouth- infection- toffee, ash, vanilla, light roast and nuttiness, stale oxidized malts, marshmallow, and a leathery earthy note in the end. Finish is a bit abrupt and slick. meh Maverick34 (716), New York, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 25, 2009 Bottle. Pours brown with a billowing beige head. Malty sweet aroma with a touch of vanilla. The flavor has a more pronounced roasted and chocolate notes, with vanilla and a slight metallic edge. Not bad.
