Jun 6, 2008 500ml bottle at Reading BF 08. Very deep brown with thin beige head. Chewy, tasty beer. Very pleased with this one. Toffee flavours, but roasted at the same time and slightly buttery. Tasty and satisfying.

Sep 19, 2007 (Bottled) Dark, clear cola color with a small, but lacy head. Rye-puddingy aroma with sweet, syrupy maltiness. Slightly vegetably, glue-buttery-like and alcoholic flavor with sweetish, rye-puddingy, licoricey maltiness. Medium to full-bodied, slightly thin (when cool) palate with low-medium carbonation. A bit industrial, thin and alcoholic, but still a reasonably enjoyable doppelbock.

Jul 20, 2007 Bottle: Deep amber coloured, quickly diminishing - to a small persistent foamy layer - off-white head; sweet-malty, slightly fruity and a bit metallic nose; sweet and very delicate bitter flavour, medium-bodied; short fruity-malty finish with hoppy illusions from far away. Rather flat brew.......

Dec 5, 2004 Big malty nose. Gold with a white head. So malty. Like spooning malt extract into my mouth. Medium bodied but just too one sided for my tastes.
