[12oz Bottle - 99 Bottles] Pors a deep amber color with a nice head. Hints of strong malts and a great underlying roastyness. Loved the flavors. This was a full beer and not over powering. This had smokiness and malts and a hiny of fruitness. This was a great beer.

Bottle Pours a clear deep mahogany with a small tan head. Nice thick sheeting lacing. Woody malty slightly roasted aromas. Flavor is slightly bitter, and of old wood barrles. Slight alcohol notes as well, but the ABV is not listed. Not bad winter seasonal.

12 oz bottle, via Indiana_Red. Pours a clear deep chestnut color with a tight fine bubbled light brown head. Aroma is fairly light with caramel and toasted malts, a little toffee, and a light hint of alcohol. Flavor is mostly sweet, lightly roasted malt with an abrupt moderately bitter smack in the finish. Not the most distinctive flavor profile. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a slightly cloying finish. A decent malty brew, but not very distinct. It was OK, but not worth alot of effort to seek out.

Dark amber colour. Clean, brown sugar and plummy malt aroma. A bit thin if anything. Fairly simple profile but well-balanced malts and light earthy hops.

Draught at the Brouwer’s Cafe, Seattle. Clear chestnut brown. Light grapefruit aroma. Sweet and roasty with clean mouthfeel. Full malty body. Some syrup cuts in and disturbs. Salty bitter finish.

From the bottle

Pours a deep red-brown with an abundant foamy brown head. The aroma is cafe latte, with a hint of plum wine and apricot hops; the flavor is a big pleasant malted winter ale, not aggressively overhopped like some of the Northwest winter beers. The flavor improves as the beer warms; this one is really quite nice and deserves another visit.

Pours a deep dark brown with red hues, small off-white head. Aromas of dark fruit, sweet roasted malts, and a nice helping of hops. Flavors of toffee, malts, some mellow chocolate and a nice hop finish.
