Hazy blonde colour. Berryish aroma. Tart, fruity. Light, refreshing and balanced. That it leans towards tartness rather than sweetness is a plus.

Pours gold with some haze and a nice white head. Smells of huckleberries, some tarte hints, apples, subtle honey and wheat. Tastes of huckleberries, some tarte lemony tinges, earthy and has a mellow bitterness and tangy finish. Refreshing and palatable.

I do not like fruited up (what I call "umbrella beers"), and this is a prime example of why. It’s not "light and refreshing" as advertised. It’s a carbonated fruit drink, more like a berry soda than a beer.

Straw yellow color, lightly misty, retentive pale yellow head, moderate lacing and very balanced carbonation. The nose is sweet with some berryness and an off wheatish note that really steals the spotlight and ruins the show, this had some promise from the berries. The flavor is lightly sweet, almost no hops and a creamy mouthfeel. Watery body and almost no aftertaste. A decent fruit beer but it stumbles in several areas.

There’s a strong honey-like mustiness underlying plenty of sweet fruit in the nose. While it isn’t necessarily an aroma that makes me think of beer, it is quite pleasant. Clear golden body topped by a small white head that dissipates quickly leaving only a slight, large bubbled ring. Lemon citrus tartness blends well with the fruit character leaving it less sweet than the aroma suggests. Wheat flavour is quite apparent in the aftertaste. Very light body is somewhat prickly with fairly strong prickly carbonation. Tulip glass. Fridge temperature. Bottle. Purchase before 08/08. Shilo Inn at Moses Lake. Aug-08.

Very light orange gold color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is berries, honey and sweet. A light bodied fruit beer. Malts are mild, fruity and sweet. There is a very slight hop bitterness. It does have the taste of huckleberries, and they are identifiable as such. Crisp and clean. Light and refreshing. There are no discernable flavor flaws in this beer; it’s just that there is really very little flavor at all. Everything seems toned down and muted. A touch thin and watery. Nothing really to recommend it beyond that it’s made with huckleberries. Mouthfeel is a little thin and watery. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is sweet with a touch of berries.

Bottle. Pours clear dark yellow with spare fizzy white head, mostly diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, meal), average hops (herbs), average yeast (sweat) with notes of honey and huckleberry. Light bodied, thin texture, flat carbonation and a chalky finish. Short duration, medium sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

In the bottle from 99 Beers on federal Way in WA. Pours a slightly cloudy waxy gold with a medium fleeting white head. Incredible aroma that emits honey sweetness and huckleberry pie right out of the oven. Flavor is tart and dry, not sweet. The finishing berry taste is quite nice, but the aroma is out of this world. I like. This beer is woefully underappreciated right now with an overall rating of 2.4!
