BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 11, 2009 On Tap at The Front Door Boise, Pours out a nice brown topped with a tall tan head. Aroma of sweet roast along with a nice malt. Tast was about the same plenty of the roast malts and a little coffee. Not bad. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jan 29, 2009 Tap @ TFD: Brown pour with a finger of tan head. Aroma is sweet with cocoa and a light roastiness. Flavor is a softer in the roast department with the cocoa sweetness taking over most of the flavor. Some light coffee and hints of vanilla. A bit thin in flavor depth, but still passable. glkaiser (1150), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 23, 2007 Nitro at Beverage Place Pub in Seattle a month or so ago. Creamy, thick head. Very nice roast for a porter. A little coffee and chocolate in the taste. Lots of chocolate in the aroma. Very slight sour finish. Good. Pours near-black with the usual nitro head and creamy soft texture. The aroma is limited thanks to the nitro, but what is there is malts and coffee; nice roasty rather than vinous flavor, pleasantly dry for a summer afternoon. Not outstanding, no glaring flaws either. skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 7, 2007 12 oz sample bottle. Pours a thin looking black with a fairly white head. Aroma of lightly roasted malts and a light chocolate hint. The flavor brings a nice roasted sense to it while having a surprisingly balanced coffee and sweet chocolate sense to it. Not complex at all, a very straight forward porter style, but honestly, probably the best brew I’ve ever had from Lang Creek. A tiny bitter hop note ends this one while continuing on the roasted sense. Not bad.
