It was expessially light on the stomach. Had a slight malty/carmel aroma. Taste was intially sweet but its finish was primerally hops. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 2, 2004 Hazy amber color with a modest off white head. Pale malt and rose petal aroma. Some light resin in the nose throws things out of balance a touch. Malty caramel with a light fruit middle (raisins and pear). Hops come back and dry things out. Drinkable, but then again, most ambers are to me. Compliments of Mr. slikwily. willblake (2191), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2004 Average beer all around. Amber ales are often such uninteresting beers. Sort of an all arounder, and quenching because it seems too watery. kyzr (1132), Belgrade, Montana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 4, 2003 Nice amber color with average head. Nose of hops and a touch of roast. Flavor seemed a little off balanced by hops over malt. Finish was rather watery. wulfhere (217), Billings, Montana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2003 A nice little amber with a hoppy edge to it. The malt is balanced well with the sharp hop bite, so the overall effect is quite pleasing. Lang Creek brews good beer and this is a good brew. When in Montana, try one if you like amber ales. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 17, 2003 Very nice amber color small foamy tan head that had some staying power.malty aroma very hoppy spicy and fruity as well.Man this brew has a nice aroma all the stuff i look for.malty flavor very well hoppedsemi-sweet mild hint of possible chocolate, maybe coffee, some hints of fruit, definately spicy with a slight hop bite in the after taste.IMO this is a little under rated its actually better then most people think.I'm glad i bought a 6-pack for later enjoyment.
