Bottle: Pale golden color with a large, creamy off-white head. Thick sheets of lacing. Rich aroma of citrus and overall fruity sweetness. Nice up front taste of the hops. Citrus and florals. Strong malty presence too. Dry, yet soothingly wet. Good amount of lingering bitters. A little bit of caramel, but mostly a deeper malt profile and a ton of hops. Very nice.

Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a malty hoppy aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy flavor. sweetish warmingmalty hoppy finish with a bitter aftertaste.

Clear and light golden with many rising bubbles, like champagne. Floaties and sediment lingered toward the bottom of the bottle. Frothy, tightly packed white head. Smooth and soft texture, with weight. Grainy malts. Burly alcohol presence. Had some malt liquor characteristics to it; also elements of dark corn and sourdough bread.

Crystal clear golden. Lightly worty (sweet) aroma with good size hop aromatics. Citrus and noble hops going on. Rindy bitterness, cuts through a relativly decent medium light body. Definitely not too syrupy, as many stronger lagers can be. Clean and nice.

Taste test on tap thanks to a distributor friend in Seattle. While this definitely marks a momumental moment for Lang Creek and I, they still manage to miss the mark. Very golden and strawish in flavor/nature, this seems to be like an amplified Czechvar blended with a weak DIPA. Happy to see Lang going above the 7% ABV mark, but they still haven

SBF ’08 So it is a Pilsener style ale with regards to the yeast and fermentation. It then gets a proper ale treatment with the addition of hops and malts, making this hybrid unique.

22oz. Pours golden with a light head. Smells of fruit and hops. Taste is is fruity and citrus. The aftertaste is like chewing on crushed tylenol (pithy?). The finish really killed any attraction to this beer.
