Bright straw yellow, hazy. Floral and fruit hop aroma. Very sweet malt palate, but pale malt, so quite grainy. Aromatic hoppy character adds a bit of interesting character, but in the end this is just too sweet. There is a long lingering bitter finish that just doesn’t make up for the sweet entry enough for me. I suppose this is really an "imperial pilsener", but for that kind of thing I’d return to Rogue’s Morimoto Imperial Pilsener before coming back to this one.

2008 Spring Beer Festival. Pours lighter golden with a soft white head. Big on the bittering hops, lacked floral charm. Hops were citrusy, but you could tell more from the nose and didn’t put much favorable citrus flavor through to the finish. Tasted a bit pithy, like chewing on orange peel in the aftertaste.

Aroma – Light pale malt aroma very light with hops. Light Citrus.
Appearance – Golden color, Nice light head and clear.
Flavor – A easy drinking ale. The malts where nice and balanced with the hops.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – A nice easy drinking pale ale.

22oz. bomber. A very uncategorizable offering. Pale yellow, almost macro-brew color. Pretty decent head leaves significant lace. Nice, strong euro-pilsener aroma. Strong grains and grassy notes in the flavor profile... Czech. Old-world hop bite... Czech. The alcohol content is the only odd thing about this beer, and it’s well-hidden. It’s quite drinkable, but beware the quiet Zeppelin’s attack.

I enjoyed this beer. Had it on tap. Nice aroma. good taste. It is an imperial ale. It’s kind of like a pale ale on steroids. When one rater said it’s like an IPA, I can inderstand that. Keep brewing this beer. It’s very good. Sweet, hoppy, flavorful, and good mouthfeel.

Interesting. I would have thought it was a IIPA. Goldish color. Peppery hop aroma. Flavor is peppery lemon hops with some sweet citrus flavor. Finish is a little dry with a lingering floral bitterness. Pretty good. Come to think of it, it did have characteristics of a pils, only magnified.

Slight hazy and golden with white head. Nose of hops and grain. Flavor is grainy up front with touch of sweetness to it. Finish is were the hops really come out. Slight carbination, yet on the end it is really dry.

Draft at the Applewood Grille in Wenatchee, WA. I’ve never really understood the concept of an Imperial Pilsner. It seems to be almost a contradiction, kicking up the malt to increase the ABV of a style that is meant to be refreshing with a clean palate. That being said, this is actually pretty good, although calling it a Pilsner is a stretch. Cloudy yellow, which I think detracts some for this style, but a nice creamy lasting head and nice lace. Faintly floral aroma with hints of lemon and some biscuity graininess as well. Medium body and carbonation, with some stickiness on the palate. The honey like flavor that presents initially is well balnced by a quickly risng hoppy bitterness. Finishes with citrus type dryness. All in all, a pretty decent beer, but not something I would call a Pils, even remotely.
