after4ever (1753), Brier, Washington, USA Jun 16, 2008 22. Pours burnished dark coppery amber with a thin little tiny gray rim of foam. Sour, slightly unpleasant DMS-y nose. The mango definitely announces itself in a pleasant and very real way right from the attack all through the mid-palate to the finish. Not much happening under it, maybe a little bit of brown bread backbone. Not too shabby, but needs some work.
nuplastikk (463), Maryland, USA Sep 23, 2008 500ml. Murky orange-brown color. Very well executed beer. Starts off with a solid Weizen mouthfeel which fades into a pleasant mango aftertaste instead banana. I can see purists sticking up their noses at this one, but I think it works quite well. A good balanced beer. Worth trying. anders37 (2752), Malmö, Sweden Sep 20, 2008 Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. Fruity wheaty mango aroma. Has a fruity mango flavor with some wheaty hints. Fruity finish with some hints of mango. robforbes (752), Bremerton, Washington, USA Aug 26, 2008 pours a cloudy dark orange with a thin/minimal head, no lacing.
smell is of wheat, fruits, malt, and some citrus.
taste is crisp yet smooth, somewhat tart, light on the fruit, wheat, malt, touch of caramel, and a touch of caramel, ends a little dry, but still thirst quenching. daknole (856), Plantation, Florida, USA Jul 22, 2008 An interesting brew for sure. Pours a nice cloudy orange/gold color with a foamy white head. You can smell the mango...but only if someone told you what was in the beer. Otherwise you smell the wheat. Flavor is wheat, malt and manog...but it tastes like lemon or apple to be honest. Pretty creamy and just a fun beer to drink on a hot day. theisti (1091), Leawood, Kansas, USA Jul 22, 2008 22 oz. bottle courtesy of bvc. Pour is golden ruby, hazy, with a one inch white head that falls fast. No lacing. Aroma is quite faint, some wheat is present, some yeast is there. Mango fruit is not apparent on the nose, though there is a very mild sweetness present. Taste is a nice smooth wheat, with round mango flavor. Sweet and a bit tart. Fruit melded well with the wheat. Palate is thin to medium making this nicely drinkable. Another tasty and unique beer from Laughing Buddha. Thanks for hooking me up Brandon!
