Bottle. Pours a hazy golden /orange with a thick off-white head that leaves traces of lacing. Fairly hoppy aroma with pine, citrus, grapefruit and a hint of caramel. Flavor is mildly bitter and hoppy with piney resin, citrus, light caramel, orange and grapefruit with a medium body and has a dry finish.

Bomber. Poured slightly cloudy medium orange with an easily-resuscitated cap of eggshell head. The aroma picked up juicy grapefruit, orange zest, and pine over a soft caramel and bready base.. some sort of dark, sweet malty impression really stuck with me.. felt like it had potential, but it failed to shine. The flavor did the same thing for me.. it had caramel and light fruits at the core, but it also picked up a light hit of corrugated cardboard.. bitterness surrounded in the form of syrupy pine resin and wet grapefruit.. finished sticky and sweet with non-descript residual bitterness. Heavier-bodied and sticky on the palate with less bitterness than anticipated.. juiciness at the end showed promise and provided a solid final impression. This wasn’t bad by any means, but I was hoping for more.

Pours golden amber with a darker shade of brown. Medium bodied. Not much head at all. On the palate I get hops, citrus and floral notes some malt as well. Decent lacing on the glass. This one just didn’t do it for me though. Oh well.

Bottle from Hophead22 beer tasting, compliments of Mike and Di. Light hop aroma with caramel and toffee. Cloudy golden color. Tastes a lot better than the smell, lingering bitterness.

Tap at the brewery. Hazy golden amber with off white head. This just into full bodied IPA had a nice, fresh toffee/caramel malt flavor and there was a pleasant fresh hop presence but the entire experience was overwhelmed with an awful industrial hop burn and bitterness. The bittering hops were an added on feature that did not fit with the rest of the ingredients. The 8% alcohol seemed well hidden but it was hard to tell actually with the bittering hops dominating the palate. I had a strange aftertaste from the bittering hops for at least half an hour after drinking it. Extremely unbalanced. I won’t drink this again.

22oz (new to MD) - Tasting at the Wine Source. Clear gold, creamy white head. Deep grassy pine aromas warm to swirls of honey dew and peachy toffee. Intense bitter resiny citric hops balance on a undercurrents of caramelized melon. Full bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. A very well crafted I-IPA...
