Bomber - Pours a cloudy orange with one finger of head that leaves a little lacing throughout - Citrus hops in the aroma - Bitter on palate - Doesn’t seem to have much a malt backbone - Goes down smooth for a DIPA - Overall I liked it

Bomber. Went looking for this after a thread mentioned how good it was. Meh- it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t too bad either- I cant see the applause, nor could I find the diacetyl that some were complaining about. Appearance is a woody clean deep copper with a nice tight foamy head and moderate lace. Aroma was a bit on the harsh side of the hops- very resiny, cohumulone- almost a smokey tea- and pineyness- sappy and harshing- some solvent. Flavor is also a cleanser, harsh cohumulone- chinook, N brewer, etc piney sappy, resin, moderate malt backbone- some sweetness, and more hashing bitterness. Not bad, but just an average to below average DIPA, seems amateurish actually.

Tasted 10/11/09. 22oz bomber. Hazy with a golden amber hue. Moldy off-white head. Aromas of citrus candy and grapefruit with a touch of caramel. Medium to full bodied with a big bitter finish. Big hops with a sway toward the grapefruit. A slight bit of minerality and a dry finish. Mild pine hop note. Tasty brew with a big palate.

22 oz bottle pours an orangeish yellow with a nice off white head. Aroma is big citrusy hop. Flavor is light sweetness up front then hops through the middle to the dry bitter finish.

22oz bottle. Pours semi clear amber with chunky off white head, leaves lots of beautiful spider lace. Nose is all citrus and subtle pine. Taste is caramel, grapefruit, pine, pear, orange. THis one is all about the hops, like an IIPA should be, not venturing into barleywine territory like too many IIPAs do these days. THis one is hops, hops, hops, and a nice profile of hops at that. Damn this is seriously under-rated likely because it is not heavy or high abv like sooo may IIPA’s are. ABV and heavyiness be damned! Gimme hops and gime more hops...and this has hops..this is what a IIPA should be! Body is medium, alc is not noticable, meaning this one is chuggably dangerous!

Over the rim, five finger pour. Settles slowly. Great dome head. Leaves a ring of lace on the brim that resembles salt on a tequila glass. Crystal clear, light amber color. Lots of citrusy (grapefruit) hop aroma. Subtle sweetness to the brew. Excellent malt start that quickly gives way to a hop bomb. The flavor is strong enough to cover any high alcohol elements. The aftertaste is all hop pellet bitterness, lasting forever (well, at least five minutes)! If I were to look for a complaint, it would be the pedestrian body, almost thin. A wonderful IIPA, which is my favorite style. Hop lovers rejoice.
