Aroma of cookie only. The body is full, texture oily with average carbonation and a bitter finish. The flavor’s duration is long, being moderately acidic and heavily bitter. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Orange pour with a soapy white head. Alot of citrus, honey and pine in the aroma. Slightly burnt toffee and grain body with a low bitterness. Some honey in the back, quick fading flavor. Thick, but cloying. A bit of yeast in the background and an earthy bitterness that hangs on the back of you tongue. A bit disappointing but not bad. Maybe the bottle was not the freshest. Skeegle (499), Maryland, USA

The hops were all grapefruit and were using the malts as a trampoline to smack your mouth in half. Great beer, aromatically flavorful and the flavor follows the aroma. Very good indeed. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2009 Lightly hazed bronze color with a moderate off-white head. Big grapefruit, light fruit and caramel aromas. HInt of alcohol detected. Sweet start with light caramel and lightly toasted malt. Just a touch of fruit including pears. Big hops middle with mostly grapefruit. A little unbalanced at this point which seems to continue into the finish and linger. Definitely hops juice. Could use a bit more malt in the finish and linger. swoopjones (1920), Buffalo, New York, USA

Nose is citrus hops, pine, and diacetyl. Medium bodied, somewhat sticky mouth feel. Flavor is sweet caramel, pine, citrus, and diacetyl butteriness. I definitely didn’t get the intense hop profiles that many others who rated this got. 127 IBUs my foot. Decent IIPA at best. Heathen (810), Riverside, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 26, 2009 THOUGHTS: Nice beer, but nothing special. I enjoyed their unique Dogzilla much more. Love the name of this one because it must have a ton of high alpha acid hops in it. The beer had nice balance, but poor transitioning from sweet to bitter. There was enough malt to balance the hops, but the malt stops and the hops beat it to death. There was very little blending in the transition.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a slightly hazy, light to medium brownish orange with a large, off-white head that mostly, but slowly diminished, leaving excellent lacing. The aroma was moderate caramel malt, heavy floral and resinous hops, light citrus hops and something slightly rubbery. The initial flavor was sweet, acidic and lightly bitter; while the finish was very sweet and very bitter with a fairly long duration. There was mostly resinous hops, along with caramel and toffee malts, piney and citric grapefruit hops. The medium to full body was a bit oily, slightly grainy and then a little dry with rather fizzy carbonation and a lightly stringent, lightly alcoholic and ever so slightly chalky finish. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Bright bronze colored body with a large lightly yellowish khaki head. I got my nose hairs burned off by the initial snort of the brew, massive grapefruit up front with some bread crust. There is some big malt body to balance out the citrus hops. The taste is strong grapefruit with some notes of dry hay. The finish has lots of the grapefruit resin with a little bit of burnt bread crust and almond shells. Nicely done.
