Flavor started out nicely with big citrusy/floral/piney hops that are quite sticky and good, but the sugary tastes in this one start to wreck the experience. Good, but too sugary/malty. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2008 Hazy amber with a fleeting head. Good aroma is sweet caramel and citrusy, spicy hops. Full bodied and very smooth. Heavy flavors of candied malts and sappy hops slaps your palate, definitely a sipper here. Unique for a good Imperial IPA in that the 10% is noticeable but doesn’t get in the way, enjoyed this one. ironchefscott (342), portland, Oregon, USA

Pours a dark, copper with a decent white head. Sweet, cittrusy and malty aroma. Flavor is quite sweet with some malt backing. Medium bodied. Not bad, but a little boring. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 23, 2008 Pours copper with a tan head. Smells of butter (diacetyl) and citrus. Tastes of spice, caramel, malt. Mouthfeel is full. Not a lot going on here. TheEpeeist (1494), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 23, 2008 22 oz bottle. Clear topaz with a thin beige head. Nose is orange candy and caramel; earthy pine in the back. Almost medium with mild carb. Taste is orange and pink grapefruit, then caramel and toffee. As the final traces disappear a big hop aftertaste emerges with oily pine needles. Pretty good but the finish is a bit harsh. Acknud (794), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA
