Not much hop aroma. Not much hop flavor. Hops have diminshed and malt more present. Expect that this was way past its prime. Would like to rerate a fresh bottle in the future.

Amber in color with a nice head. Thick aroma of hops with this beer. The flavor was rich with hops and the malt was also very nice. A good balance with a tad more hops making this an imperial. I liked the flavor this was not so huge it kicked your teeth in as you drank it. Liked the finish it was also very subtle and not super bitter. Great Beer.

Bottle. A major let down. No hop nose or presence. Musty, caramel flavors. Probably has some age on it.

Thanks to El Gordo. From a 22-ounce bottle. Poured a deep copper-amber-bronze hue with a powerfully fluffy white crown. Caramel, resinous, flowery flavor with an innuendo of mixed tropical fruits. Bitter and more than full-bodied. Big and bold.

22 oz bomber. Pours a dark orange coppery color with a medium tan head. Aroma of grapefruit, caramel malts pine and floral hops. Taste is hoppy with a grapefruit flavor and hints of caramel malts, pineapple, pine with a bitter finish. Excellent.

Bottle shared by Sliffy & Pud - Poured amber with a short tan head that held on for a bit and left some lace. Aromas of grapefruit and pine big hoppy notes over a nice base of caramel malts. Flavor is a fantastic dose of c-hops upfront with a solid caramel malt backbone to balance it out nicely. Good pineapple flavor with just enough bitterness to give you a bite and enough malt to let you know this is a big beer. I liked this one and I think it is somewhat underrated.

Bottle thanks to BuckeyeBoy: Pours a hazy amber color with an off white head. Aroma, citrus, pale malts, caramel, and some floral notes. Flavor, caramel, earthy, citrus notes, medium body, with a trace of alcohol, nice citrus bitterness on the finish.

Bottle: Deep amber, looks similar to the CSB but this one is much more hazy, much less of a head, small, frothy, and off-white.   Candied citrus peel nose, some pine and hop aspects.   Citrus peel, pale malts, slight hop, and a good bit of tea leaves on the tongue.   Not as heavy nor malty as others, yet also not as biting nor overly bitter.   Semi-sweet from start to finish, also has a bit of a tea leaf that lingers.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Not as big as others, yet also somewhat well balanced.   Definitely an eaiser drinking IIPA.   Overall out of all that I have had, this one had quite a low hop bitterness aspect.   Gateway IIPA beer?
