8-26-08 bottle thanks to miketd
Clear amber orange with a decent white head and some good sticky lacing. Smell is very sweet. Flavor is honey and fruit preserves..... syrupy fruit juice. Mouthfeel is okay - not great. Just a sweet and kinda strange flavor.

Dark yellow with foamy head. This is a big hoppy melange with malt. The bitterness is not acidic but it is a bitter mouthfeel. Yes its a very decent DIPA. 43rd or 44th state.Above average mouthfeel. Thanks SuzyGreenberg.

Bottle… RBSG ‘08… Clear golden/orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Fruity, black tea aroma. Full-bodied with medium carbonation. Sweet, fruity flavor is decently bittered to prevent cloying. Lightly acidic as well. Lengthy, tangy finish.

After drinking the regular IPA, I had such high hopes. Only a European yeast could kill a beer with such potential for me.

Bottle thanks to miketd. Don’t know what it was about this bottle, but this was one of the sweetest beers I’ve ever had. Pours a nice semi clear amber with a beige head and nice lacing. Smell is watery fruitiness and tea. Taste was shockingly sweet on 1st sip. Like syrup and then lightly bitter with tea like flavor. Medium bodied. Balanced out a bit after the 1st sip, but I can’t believe the reviews of this are for the same beer I drank as it was the sweetest DIPA I’ve ever had.

Bomber.... Superb. Drank with Ramenen in Hippy Heaven (Panajachel Guate). Outstanding copper hazyness, yellow tinged persistent head that leaves rings on the pint glass as you drink it. Starts with a complex sour taste, followed by a perfectly balanced sweetness, all the while enveloped in citrus/grapefruit hoppiness. I’m wild about this beer. It is now my ATF. Cheers.
