22oz bottle–pours a rich tan head and brown color with orange. Aroma is pine, sweet fruit, some medium malt. Taste is resin/earthy hops with flat bite, secondary dark malt-baker’s chocolate/earthy. Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing.

Tasting – Wine Source. Dark brownish black, off white creamy head. Roasted melon and light milk chocolate nose warms to hints of mild coffee and caramel. Honeydew and earthy floral hop flavors blance well on swirls of roasty chocolate throughout. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, bittersweet finish. Love this black IPA craze...

Pours mahogany with a thin off white head. Smells of hay, grass, resin. Tastes of pine resin, earthy, some sweet citrus on the finish. Cool label!

22oz bottle. Amber/brown pour with a huge tan head. Bitter earthy hop aroma with some caramel malt. Citrus hop flavor with a roasty finish. Not bad, but not quite enough of the malty side as some of the better Black IPAs.

From a 22 oz bottle, this poured a hazy red with fairly fat tan long lasting head very sticky lacing rings. The nose is lightly roasted malts with floral and citrus hops. Thick and cream palate with a slick mouthfeel. Lots of rich flavor with a good balance between the sweet malts and hop bitterness leading to a slight bitterness Interesting dark version of an IPA.

Bottle thanks to ditmier!
Pours opaque nut brown, red hints, a large beige head, puffy and long lasting. Somewhat bitter nose of orange, spice, and minor chocolate. Flavor is less interesting, rather sweet with malt and chocolate but also some earthy hop. Too fizzy for the above profiles. Not bad, but it’s not very exciting.

Bottle, rating #100, and #2600 for me, Nice! Pours a cola brown body with a creamy tan head. Very vine y fresh green hop character with some mild citrus note and chocolate malt character. Ash y chocolate malt with a milder citrus lightly bitter. Not your traditional IPA for sure, but still quite enjoyable.

Bottle from Roger Wilco in Palmyra, NJ. Pours a deep brown with a retentive beige head. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor is a bit different. The malt profile is like maple syrup mixed with chocolate and molasses, then this is offset by a citrusy bitterness. There is a good amount of perceived sweetness between the malt and hops. Odd, but it a good way.
