Bottle shared with the guys at the Inglorious Emergency Tasting. Dark brown pour with reddish highlights and massive light tan head. Smells of piney citrus nose carries to flavor, but with a slightly metallic twinge. Overly carbonated. Cool beer with a cool name. But not my favorite.

Pours an over-carbonated, lacing beige head with a brown body that has copper-ruby highlights. Smells of resin and roasted malt. Flavor is floral and resin hops with some dark bread. Slightly bitter finish.

22 oz bomber. Dark brown with a huge light tan creamy head. Aroma to me was very subdued and unimpressive some maltyiness, and the barest hint of pine. Taste weird, this is my first Black IPA and certainlly its almost a balance between the malts a..toasty,toffeeish and the hopping..mainlly piney. Takes some getting used to. Nice mouthfeel on this one. Overall a very different IPA. Like I said my first Black IPA, need to try some more.

This was a peasant surprise. A lot going here with a bold hop fruitiness, a dry, resiny undercurrent and nice deep dark malt. Good stuff, thanks max.

Red black with a thick foamy beige head. Aromas of caramel, spicy hop and some citrus. Tastes of toasted malt, pine, resin, some chocolate. Ends with an earthy bitter finish that lingers just a tad too long.

22oz bottle. Pours a dark brownish/black color with a big foamy tan head. Nose is light malted chocolate, dark bittersweet malts and a light hint of piney hops. Palate is medium with a nice stickiness and an easy swallow. Flavors are chalky chocolate, some light sticky piney hops.

Bottle. This was more like half stout and half IPA. Black pour with generous tan head. Hoppy aroma with slight dark malt notes. Flavor is slight roasted and smoky malt, and hoppy finish. Different not you run of the mill IPA
