Oct 23, 2009 On tap at the 09 Fresh Hop Ale festival.
This was my first stop at the festival since Laughing dog had won 2 years in a row. It was instantly apparent that they were on track to win again. The beer was great. Huge nose, and rich hop resins. Floral but not gardeny. Big citrus. Actually balanced which was surprising concidering how big the hops were. Great beer. Go hop head Fred!

Nice Green Grassy hop aroma with a very clean finish just what a Fresh hop ale should be

Oct 16, 2008 On tap at Yakima Fresh Hop fest. Tons of fresh grassy and spicy hops. Very light in alcohol and bitterness. Just a great example of what a fresh hop ale can be in the NW! Gold medal winner 2 years in a row....

Oct 26, 2008 Tap @ The Front Door Pours out a nice clear light gold topped with a nice sand head. A great fresh pine nose. Tast a nice mix of malt and pine/grass hops. A nice brew.

Nov 17, 2009 Tap @ Kahootz: Clear copper color with a white head and runny lacing. Aroma of hay, junipers and alcohol. Flavors of pine needles and grapefruit rind. A SOLID pale ale. In my top 5 for this style.

Oct 24, 2008 On tap at Bailey’s taproom. Pours amber with a small white head. Hopped up nose, candy citrus hops. Strangely I got a bit of diacetyl out of this, strange for an ale, but it had that butterscotch character. None the less that wasn’t to distracting, soft body with a good balance and fresh green hop flavors throughout.

Oct 25, 2008 Tap @ The Front Door: Pours a copper golden color with a nice sticky head and nice lacing. The nose is fresh with some piney resinous hop notes and a lupulin dust like cascades. A pale malt and chewy vine note in the flavor. Bitter tail with a hoppy balanced wet hop notes with the dry. Not bad, hoppy but a little sticky and resinous.

Oct 26, 2008 Tap @ TFD: Yellow/golden pour, lightly hazy. Large offwhite head and good lacing. Aroma of floral and piney hops, light citrus, and a bit malty. Tastes more balanced in hops than the Rocket Dog. Citrus and floral with a light malt presence. Good.
