Commercial Description:
The huckleberry is native to the Pacific Northwest and is prized for it’s sweetness and texture. To celebrate summer and the huckleberry picking season, we have blended real huckleberries with our cream ale. Smooth and creamy with a light touch of huckleberries, it would be great at the lake, a bbq or simply just relaxing away a long summer day. Just like the berries, Huckleberry Cream Ale with be available for your enjoyment for a limited time! You never know when it will be gone until next year

Bottle. Pours an average, white, pitted head. Hazy, yellow body. Fruity, funky (slight vinegar) aroma accompanied by a sweet sugar smell. Super sweet, syrupy flavor with some muddled malts. Light-medium body, prickly carbonation with a fairly dry finish. A bit cidery. Overall a fairly underwhelming beer.

Bottle. Hazy golden pour with a tiny-bubbled head. Berrilicious nose but not especially distinctly Huckleberry. A little rubber. Taste is also astringent and lightly rubbery, don’t think this is a bad bottle, dryish with a lemon-funk. Medium body, whole picture is a little like Arbor Mist. And that means meh.

Slightly hazy copper body with zero cap to speak of. Not sure what huckleberry is except for the Hana-Barbar cartoon character but man does this smell yummy. Aroma kind reminds me of raspberry yogurt. Very perfumey & sweet with a good tartness to balance the aroma out. Very Very flowery perfume taste but in a good way. Tasty sweet Raspberries or I guess I mean huckleberries built on a nice smooth malty back bone. Taste is very berryfull without being overly sweet. Nice crisp carbonation. Brew finishes with a touch of medicine. I like this stuff it’s a fruit beer I could see myself drinking all night but only if I was in tight black leather pants.

Bottle. Pours golden amber in color with a lively pure white head. The aroma is tart, crisp and fruity. This beer is easy drinking, light in flavor, somewhat fruity, just right for the summer. You get a bit of the berry flavor while still not overpowering the beer. Light in body and crisp, clean in finish.

12 oz bottle from Market of Choice. Pours a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma hefty on huckleberries and some caramel malt. Flavor has a big, sour hit of huckleberries and some mild caramel. Not as tasty as one might hope from a very tasty berry.

On tap at Washington Brewers’ Fest 2009. Yikes. Pours ultra clear amber with a thin white head. Smells and tastes like a PB&J. Interesting I guess, but not what I had in mind.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with ditmier. Pours a slightly hazed gold with a thin-moderate sudsy white head that disappeared after the first sip and left no lace. Mild aroma of berries, which I assume are huckleberries, along with a bit of malt. The flavor is again mild huckleberries and malt. Light bitterness at the finish. Very effervescent and spritzy on the palate; more like a soda than a beer. So so.

Bottled. Poured slightly hazy light-medium orange with a short-lived cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweet huckleberries (not that I’d know the aroma unless it was stated on the label ;) over a soft pale malt and light fruity base.. not too exciting, but well-balanced. The flavor had more of a tangy and spicy aspect of the fruit over a dry bready and honeyed core.. tart finish, but not in a refreshing way. Lighter-bodied with poor flow across the palate (almost syrupy right on front with a big tart kick showing shortly after).. this was also more scratchy and dry than creamy.. didn’t care much for this.
