Commercial Description:
The huckleberry is native to the Pacific Northwest and is prized for it’s sweetness and texture. To celebrate summer and the huckleberry picking season, we have blended real huckleberries with our cream ale. Smooth and creamy with a light touch of huckleberries, it would be great at the lake, a bbq or simply just relaxing away a long summer day. Just like the berries, Huckleberry Cream Ale with be available for your enjoyment for a limited time! You never know when it will be gone until next year

Slightly hazy golden yellow, average white head. Very robust aroma of blackberries and blueberries (which, I take it, is what huckleberries smell like?). The palate is similarly dominated by the fruit. This beer is saved by two things: the nice creamy mouthfeel and the more-than-usual bitterness in the finish. I enjoyed it.

Bottle: Pours a gold color with spotty lacing and decent head. The nose is bright and fresh with nice sweet huckleberry and sweet malts as well, like a fruit sorbet or a fruit pie, nice smell. The flavor is tasty, the hop bitterness stands out a bit more than I usually like, but it has a decent body and plenty of clean malty flavor and fruity accents that keep coming up. Finishes smooth and creamy. Delicious huckleberry beer

On tap at Henry’s 12th Street Taproom in Portland, OR--Cloudy golden body with a fluffy soft white head. Fruity, artificially flavored Flintstone Vitamin Chewables nose. Finished like the flavor of sweet Cool Aid after brushing your teeth. Eh.

bottled, pours medium yellow with minimal white head with good carbonation, aroma of strong berries but nothing scary, cider like citrus up front on palate with nice berry flavor in the middle followed by lingering yeast, very smooth and not artificially fruity tasting.

Nice fruity beer. Pours hazy yellow with very little head. Surprisingly well balanced and not to sweet or overly fruity. Nice smooth drink.

aroma is a very strong berry which makes me think that this beer willl have the common malady of most fruit beers - overfruited. Pours a hazy gold/yellow with a slight white head. Taste is better than I thought it would be with a sour berry taste followed by some biscuits and a tiny bit of sweetness. A lingering berry/biscuit taste stays in the palate. I have had better huckleberry beers (I am a sucker for huckleberry beers) but I have certainly had worse fruit beers.

Thanks to BückDich for the bottle. Slightly hazy gold with a white head. Sort of sour, fruity, biscuit, blueberries, and some sweetness in the end. Finishes tart and dry. Interesting, but not my thing.

Smells like banana and berries. Maybe tastes more like blueberries than huckleberries. Surprisingly and refreshingly tart, compared to a lot of other fruit beers. Dry and grainy finish. Seems like the huckleberries would be nice in a nicer base beer. Bitter aftertaste like a slightly green banana.
