Skyview (2933), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 15, 2008 Received a 12-oz bottle via trade with 5000. Pours a semi-clear golden pale amber brew with a thick and lumpy white head that has some good retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of blueberry, huckleberries, mild golden grain malt, a touch of citrus hops and some bubble gum. Taste is slightly spritzy with lots of carbonation, slightly metallic, with flavors of golden grain malt, multiple tart berry character, with some tart fruit. Finish has a mild tart aftertaste the quickly disappears.
anders37 (2753), Malmö, Sweden Sep 22, 2008 Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Fruity huckleberry aroma. Sweetish malty fruity creamy huckleberry flavor with some tart hints. Sweetish malty fruity huckleberry finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste. boFNjackson (543), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 18, 2008 Bottle... Poured yellow/golden with a white head that faded immediately. Aroma of berries, maybe like a wine-cooler. Definitely unique but not something I could get into. I had to drain this one, felt like it was giving me heart burn. Steinface (77), Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 5, 2008 Poured gold with no head. Detect strong huckleberry and green grapes. Tart taste, watery, but enjoyable. troopie (516), USA Sep 2, 2008 Bottle. Poured pale gold with thin fast dissipating head. Strong aroma of huckleberries. Tastes of huckleberries and a bit of malt. Actually seems overbalanced with the fruit. Tart berry finish then turns flat. BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jul 29, 2008 Tap @ Piper Pub - Pale golden color and clear with a very nice frothy egg white head. The nose is lovely with real fruit as opposed to that artifical fruit extract sweetness. Huckleberries and hints of spice. Unfortunately this one falls short on the palate and is quite lackluster. A very weak cream ale with biscuity pale maltiness, and finishes kind of flat and watery.
