| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Chalky character underlies the cereal malt sweetness and citrusy, spicy, pine hop nose. Brilliantly clear copper body is topped by a low but lasting white head that coats the sides of the glass with sudsy lacing. Malt character is a bit lost in the very dry flavour. Mineral, chalky flavour underlies the cirus pine hop flavour. Moderate bitterness and some sweetness in the finish. Dry medium body with decent effervescence that engages the tongue. Snifter. Cellar temperature. Bottle. Bottleworks. Aug-08. zebracakes (1216), Washington DC, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 27, 2008 pours a copper/amber with a big head, nice lacing... lots of citrus aroma, mostly grapefruit... A bit of pine in the taste, not as much grapefruit as in the nose... The hops seem muddled a bit, it doesnt have the crispness and balanced complexity of the top notch IPAs... I dont experience the "complex malt flavors" i was promised... OK, but many are better... kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 1, 2008 22. Pours crystal clear but very dark amber with a towering, fluffy, platinum blonde head. Big woody nose; spent grain’s there, too. Cheerios-esque for sure. Nice medium body. Refreshing; nothing sticky or oily or even creamy about it. Woody, resiny, piney mid-palate with biscuit and crackers there as well. Pretty far away from the bright and fruity side of the IPA world, and very tough-minded and well-made. Nice refreshing, delicious little beer. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2008 22 oz bottle, from "By the Bottle" bottle shop in Vancouver, WA. Pours deep pecan amber with a creamy off-white head that lingers nicely and leaves ample lace. Aroma is fruity, earthy and floral with caramel and toffee present as well. Flavor is rich and malty, with more caramel and an over ripe, almost souring summer fruit character, citrus and piney hops as well. Medium to full body, gentle carbonation. Not bad.
