acrdz (4129), Pennsylvania, USA May 2, 2008 A light haze on a red and copper colored body, far darker than any IPA should be, and far too red. Get ready for some caramel malt. But, first whiff, it’s actually nice – a lot of fruit and fruit sugars in the nose: maraschino cherries, fruity cocktail, pear syrup, etc. Has a medium bitterness that’s tempered somewhat by the fruit sugars, and the flavor shows off more of the crystal malt caramel flavors and chewiness, but it’s actually quite nice, and it goes well with the hoppy, fruity, crystalline hop cone sugariness. Better than expected.

Aroma – Big hops nose with good malt backing.
Appearance – Dark golden in color, light head and clear.
Flavor – Big hops aroma with a great malt balance. This was a great IPA.
Palate – Great IPA Mouthfeel, Good texture with a nice dry IPA finish.
Overall – This is one of the better IPA’s I have had in the past few months.
scraff (1612), Baltimore, Maryland, USA May 7, 2008 (22oz bottle, thanks acrdz). Peach juice colored ale with an off white head. Peachy floral aromas ride waves of brown sugar and caramel. Grapefruit and floral hop bitterness balances well on notes of caramel and toasted fuzzy fruits. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Session worthy in my book... bu11zeye (3573), Frisco, Texas, USA May 4, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a lightly hazy copper body with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, light cherry, and toffee. Flavor of sweet apricot, caramel malt, mild hops, toasted grain, and spoiled vegetable with a bitter finish. argo0 (6018), Washington DC, USA May 3, 2008 (22oz bottle, thanks acrdz) Hazy amber body with small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit/orange, some earthiness. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel, some orange. Medium body, some acidity, some duskiness. kmweaver (1800), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA May 2, 2008 22oz bottle, courtesy of acrdz. Thanks, Mike! Pours a ruby-orange color; white head with patchy lacing. Earthy and floral hops in the aroma; an earthy malt core underneath. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: earthy and floral, chewy hops (following the aroma); plenty of chewiness, a touch sticky; not overly interesting, and I found it hard to drink much of this. Lengthy, sticky hop finish: earthiness, sugar, and candy.
