Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Oct 30, 2009 Courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours clear copper with thin off white head. The aroma is sweet with malts, grains, earthiness, grass and pine. The taste is pretty smooth and refreshing with malts and a touch of biscuit to start and then moving toward a tasty thicket of pine, grassy and earthy hops. To midway and finish a tangy yet sweet up welling of citrus and esters joins in to provide added interest and balance. Nice pale ale. keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Sep 30, 2009 Nice citrus pine aroma. Pours amber with a lacing head. Flavor is nicely balanced with malty sweetness up front followed by a hop bitterness. Finish is dry and smooth. Good stuff. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Sep 21, 2009 Bottle. Lovely fruit and heavy pine nose. Lychee, mild grapefruit, some lemon cleaner, and spice. Pour is an orange gradient (rather like some ESBs) which supports a rocky, tiny-bubbled beige head. Taste is bone-dry and lightly bitter with medium-strong tart-/sourness, just imagine super-heavy orange peel. If it had some wheat in the bill, would be a damn good base beer for adding coriander and lacto and getting a bitter Gose. Medium body and a puckering aftertaste. Different and interesting. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 20, 2009 12oz bottle-pours a rich light tan head and copper/amber color. Aroma is citrus-orange/some herbal-tea hops, sweet medium malt-honey. Taste isherbal-tea, citrus-orange/resin hops, sweet medium malt-honey, a bit too herbal for my taste. Soft carbonation. beerbill (1918), Laurel, New York, USA Aug 15, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with ditmier. Pours a very hazy gold with a moderate off-white head that faded to a film after the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of citrus (predominantly grapefruit but not solely) along with some light malt. The flavor is dry malt up front followed by a solid dose of grapefruit hops bitterness. The grapefruit is a combination of fruit and pith. A solid pale ale. poisoneddwarf (153), Rathdrum, Idaho, USA Aug 3, 2009 12 oz bottle. Average American pale ale. You’ve had one 100 times before and probably will have 100 more that taste exactly like this. Tasty, yet nothing special. Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 28, 2009 Bottled. Poured clear, medium orange with a nice cap of white head. The aroma picked up toffee and caramel maltage with spicy floral, citrus, and light fruity hops accenting.. quasi-sweet overall and well-balanced. The flavor had more of the toffee and some pale bready malts at the core, again with spicy floral and citrusy bitterness around.. warmth brought out mild oxidation.. tacky on the finish with lingering bitterness and warmth. Medium-bodied with OK balance on the palate.. a bit hotter than it should’ve been on the back.. decent one. JohnC (2227), Mission Viejo, California, USA Jul 24, 2009 On tap at Rick’s Press Room in Meridian, ID, this pours a clear golden color with a slightly citric flavor and aroma.
