Wonderful hop aromatics dance around the glass. The nose is also piqued by rye crispness and hints of apricot. Puissant raw hop flavor surges on the palate with good balancing bitterness and moderate bite. Top-notch Rye-PA for a little something different.

Hops Hops and more hops the rye really stands out next to the big hoppy nose I would have expected it to be out of balence by the aroma but the ruy adds a nice character, what I really wanted was nice Reuben sandwich to go with this AmEricanbrew (1929), orange, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2008 Draft@ Dog and Pony. Clear amber with a tight white head. Malty sweet honey and rye aroma. Medium body. Nice pale malt and rye malt grist flavor with a hoppy twang to finish. Not as rich and smooth as the best Ryes but nice nonetheless. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Tap @ TFD: Orange/gold with a good bit of haze. Large offwhite head and decent lacing. Nose is soft of florals and malt, a bit of crispy rye. Tastes rather floral with more of the rye ’bite.’ Enjoyable IPA. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Tap @ The Front Door: Pours a copper color with a thick sticky head and nice lacing. The nose has some spicy rye and a slappy bitter hop bite balanced for an IPA. A rye ripeness in the flavor resinates. Similar to the hop dog but more herbal and spicy with a chewy finish. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Tasted on tap 10/24/2008. This IPA pours a medium orange color. Smll to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is spicy, floral hops, and caramel. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are floral and spicy; the rye flavors sort of assert themselves here. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. glkaiser (1172), Seattle, Washington, USA
