Black body w. burnt chocolate head. Roast bark aroma w. deep chocolate notes and slight metallic quality. Parching, dry body, bitter, unsweetened chocolate flavor aganst a metallic English hop character.

Bottle: Jet black with a fluffy light brown head and sticky lacing. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, sweet cardboard and roasted malts. The taste is basically the same as the aroma and quite good. It has a full body which accentuates the flavors. The feel is a bit thin and the aftertaste is almost metallic (but not quite) which I don’t prefer. Overall, a great stout.

On Tap a the first anual Old Boise Brewers Fest. Nice deep dark black with a rather coarse ligh cocolate colored head. Aroma is dark roasted with plenty of coffee. Flavor was much the same, not so much coffee however and I noticed the slight chocolate flavors. Body was a bit thin but the carbonation was soft and the palate was smooth. Nice slightly burnt coacoa flavored after taste. Not bad

Dark nearing black with a large frothy tan head. Aroma is chocolate and espresso with some roasted malt. Taste starts sweet, oily and then moves into a hoppy bitterness. A touch of acidity beyond the bitterness and quite bubbly but otherwise well made.
