On tap at the Elk, pours dark coal Black with lots of creamy brown head left sheets of lacing down the glass. Nice Chocolate/coffee aroma with some mild earthy notes, nice lingering aftertatse that made me have to have a second pint

Welcoming aroma of coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. VERY dark pour, a tad thin, with a light brown head. Delicious flavor of espresso and bitter chocolate. Lots of roasted malts provide the bitterness. Very nice. Thanks to Andre - you da man!

Pours onyx with 1-finger brown head. Aroma of dark roasty malt, chocoff, molasses. Tastes roasty dark malty, with chocoff, slight cherry, and slight rauchy brown sugary notes. Nice complexity.

Draft 10 oz at the brewpub. This place is 6 for 6! Black of course with an average stouty head. Sweet roasty aroma. Sweet and sugary with a bit of corree, bit of choclatey goodness. bit chalky. This place just doesn’t miss it. (#2906, 5/17/2007)

Pours a black-brown with a robust brown head, leaving behind some early lace. Bitter chocolate, dark roast, hint of prune in the nose. Lively carbonation early, seems to play itself out to become a more creamy mouthfeel later. Chocolate liqeur, coffee roast, hint of greenstick hoppiness. Quite rich, and very tasty.

(Bottle) Purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle on October 20, 2007. I’d never heard of this brewery before Oakes mentioned it during the visit to Bottleworks but the scores on RB and positive remarks has me hoping we’ll see more of Laughing Dog in the future. This beer had a solid cocoa base with a roasted-cold-coffee-sitting-on-the-element-for-too Very thick and malty, this should be the pride of Idaho. Yummy!
