Commercial Description:
I got a brew you can’t refuse. The Dogfather is one of the biggest brew we have ever made, weighing in a 10.85% alcohol. 7 malts and 4 hops give it a complex flavor profile. Over 11 month in the making some of the DogFather has been barrel aged. This is a very limited release with only 40 keg equivalents in draft and only 300 case made.

This is the Perfect Beer, Tried next to the 2008 Abyss the Dogfather has Way more character with a big strong Complex Malt presence lost of Chocolate and coffee made me think it was a Espresso beer at first, the hops are there but just enough to offset this so it wont be too sweet, the ABV is well hidden, finishes very smooth

22 oz bottle. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, alcohol, toasted marshmallows, roasted malt. Pours tar black with little head, nice lacing. Taste is bitter. Full-bodied, creamy mouthfeel; carbonation is medium. Finish is long, bitter, full of warming alcohol. Excellent stout that’s perfect for frigid winter days.

Bottle from Total Wine in Springfield over christmas. Pours a dark black with a lighter tan head. Hint of alcohol in the background is a little disappointing after just having another well made impy. Flavor a little lighter and less complex with mostly roasted malt and a bit of a light hop bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a foamy tan head that leaves heavy lacing. Nose is rich chocolate with some malted milk balls and light alcohol esters. Palate is filmy sticky chewy stingy and full. Flavorsvof chocolate and dark roasted malts with light alcohol.

Bottle, thanks sis. Pours pitch black with small beige head, very thin glass lacing. Chocolate with maple syrup and burnt wood in the nose. Flavor starts with dark chocolate, dark roasted barley, followed by a bit of dark roast coffee, finishes very bitter, has a peculiar astringent hop quality that lingers. Very sticky and thick. Decent.

An above average imperial stout...rich and chocolately with a hint of ash with an alcohol burn which was pleasing. Nice job, Laughing Dog.

An interesting interpretation of this style. Like most other strong stouts it has a full body, dark color and thick lacing. The aroma has a mixture of coffee with some decidedly resin like pine as well. Flavor has some coffee and chocolate like most stouts but it also has a significant hop profile. The notes of piney resin that was apparent on the nose comes out even more on the taste which linger quite bitterly. It almost seems in the end that the malts and hops are trying to battle each other out for your taste buds, which certainly makes an interesting, if not a rather unbalanced beer. Aftertaste has some oak barrel flavors coming through as well. Overall, if you like a somewhat crazy american style stout with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in, I would recommend this.
