Bottle at Chriso pre-GBBF tasting 09. It’s a decent brune, nice malts, a bit on the sugary side, but good beer.

A Mes rate: bottle at the ever brilliant Chris O’s Pre GBBF Extravaganza.
Dark copper with a fairly thick light beige head. Lots of dark fruit and yeast all round. Chewy toffee and a faint spicy hint in the finish with a fairly obvious boozy hit.

Hazy light chestnut. Sweet aroma is very fruity (fig, plum, apple). Dryish palate is quite yeasty, but with light figgy-datey accents. Some alcohol in the finish. Decent stuff, actually.

Bottle 33cl. @ [ Fastelavns Tasting Ulfborg ].
Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting - diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, mlaty, caramel notes, light hoppy, fruity notes, light yeasty, peat - sod notes, alcohol notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, finish has a peat - sod and alcohol - peppery burn. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20090221]

Bottle at the legend of chriso’s pre GBBF09 tasting. Alround rating: Quite sweet, brown sugar, some plums in rum and rainson toffee there, peppery alc shows later. Decent.

Bottled (Bs, BB 03/2010). Dark amber color, good creamy off-white head. Dusty and spicey nose. Caramel malty, sweetish with dark fruits and spices. Alcoholic kick. Quite typical, although decent, dubbel with extra alcoholic punch.

Bottled (from belgianshop.be). Deep hazy amber colour with mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some fruityness as well as yeast and mild alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is caramel malts, some yeast, fruits and slightly earthy and raisiny notes as well. As it warms up it gets some spicyness as well. Mild alcohol shows in the flavour too as it warms up.
