Sweet aroma is very fruity (fig, plum, apple). Dryish palate is quite yeasty, but with light figgy-datey accents. Some alcohol in the finish. Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting - diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, mlaty, caramel notes, light hoppy, fruity notes, light yeasty, peat - sod notes, alcohol notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, finish has a peat - sod and alcohol - peppery burn. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Dark amber color, good creamy off-white head. Dusty and spicey nose. Caramel malty, sweetish with dark fruits and spices. Alcoholic kick. Quite typical, although decent, dubbel with extra alcoholic punch. oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland May 1, 2009 Bottled (from belgianshop.be). Deep hazy amber colour with mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some fruityness as well as yeast and mild alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is caramel malts, some yeast, fruits and slightly earthy and raisiny notes as well. As it warms up it gets some spicyness as well. Mild alcohol shows in the flavour too as it warms up.
