Amber with a small white head. Fruity and caramel aroma, with some alcohol. Malty caramel flavour, with a husky dryness and a bit of a spicy hot finish.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, dark amber colour with a fluffy light-beige foamy head. Sweet and yeasty, moderately toasted malty aroma, slightly nutty with faint fruity notes and traces of spices and vanilla. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, full bodied with a medium carbonation. Moderately roasted malt character with caramel and nutty notes, combined with a very shy fruity touch; warming alcohol shows up from the middle part and gets slightly brandy-like in the finish. Okay (13.IV.09).

(33cl bottle, BB 20/03/10) Pours a murky orangish-brown body with a small white head. Aroma of mustiness, yeast, toasted grain, light herbs, and apple. Flavor of yeast, subtle candish, citrus, caramel, and some herbal.

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours a great red mahogany with a fine and quite clear white, small, creamy head. Yeasty and fruity aroma with some cellar notes. Overripe red apples, plums, prunes and raisins. Some toffee as well. Medium carbonation, fine, rather oily mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, lots of toffee and yeast. Quite a surprising, ashy roastedness. Different than other dubbels, which usually have chocolate notes. Light warming vinious finish.
