Pours a great red mahogany with a fine and quite clear white, small, creamy head. Yeasty and fruity aroma with some cellar notes. Overripe red apples, plums, prunes and raisins. Some toffee as well. Medium carbonation, fine, rather oily mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, lots of toffee and yeast. Quite a surprising, ashy roastedness. Different than other dubbels, which usually have chocolate notes. Light warming vinious finish. Oakes (8114), Kowloon, Hong Kong

Dryish palate is quite yeasty, but with light figgy-datey accents. Some alcohol in the finish. Decent stuff, actually. TBone (6844), Pori, Finland
