Good hop aroma. Orange color. This is good. Quite hoppy but doesn’t seem ttoo strong. Definitely drinkable.

Sampled at Fremont Oktoberfest. Pours hazy orange amber with a scant white head. Sweet citrus and cotton candy aroma. Full body nearly still, and the serving temperature is pretty close to the current outdoor temperature in Fremont. There are some weird flavor notes in the aroma and taste, perhaps due to being so warm? The taste is cotton candy sweet, with some citrus that fades to resin.

Aptly named, this is one strange IPA. If there is 100IBU in here it’s hiding under the layers of sugar.

from old rating note: draft at fremont oktoberfest in seattle. dark amber pour with small light tan head. floral hops and sweet honey malt in the aroma. taste is all about the big hops. balanced somewhat with caramel malts. suits my tastes - but tough to put into context after day of drinking. K7.5

Draft. Rich amber beer with an off-white head. Light grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit, caramel, light pine flavor with some light earthiness. Medium body. Decent bitterness. Grapefruit, caramel, earth, and light pine linger.

Taster - Washington Beer Commission Oktoberfest - Seattle, WA
Aroma – Big Aroma with lots of hops and mild malt aroma.
Appearance – Amber in color, clear with a light head.
Flavor – A very tasty and hopped up IPA. Huge hops flavor this was a big hoppy beer.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – Good god this was a huge IPA with tons of flavor. This was the WABL beer for the day and they did a very nice job brewing this beer.

9/12/08 On draught at the WBC Oktoberfest. Aroma is citrus cascade flora forward with good caramel balance. Appearance is hazy amber with a moderate maintained off-white head. Flavor is harsh, with only some malt sweetness balance, and metallic in the background. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a low carb texture and highly dry starchy finish. Overall, funky and not even close to easy drinking.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café: Deep dark dirty amber, moderate odd-white foamy head, spotty lacing. Soft hop nose, slightly musty, a little basement. Forwardly hoppy, quite floral, but not a big malt base. Moderate body and mouthfeel. Yet another fairly good 1 1/2 IPA. Flavorful but wished it had a bit more malt sweetness. Other than that it is still enjoyable.

On tap at Brouwers. Copper color with a small beige head. Aroma is sweatsocks and citrus hops. Flavor is toasty malt with grapefruit and funky hops. Some prevalent alcohol as well. Definitley balanced. Not overpowering in terms of malt or hops.
