Dec 5, 2006 Updated: Jan 17, 2007On tap at Skeeter’s, Gulfport, MS. This is a fine example of a Kristal Weizen. Poured an attractive gold with creamy white head that it didnt retain. Lacing was minimal. Good mouthfeel. Tasted a bit like a witbier to me. Carbonation was perfect and it disguised its alcohol content well (5.7 abv). Flavor has notes of honey and citrus. Good beer.

Nov 18, 2006 Draft. Pale gold in color with a white fluffy head that doesn’t last. Mouth feel is good; kind of dry. I really liked this beer. Flavor wise, this compares favorably with the good European weiss beers. The Lazy Magnolia people have definitely impressed me with this one.

Sep 22, 2006 For a while, this was the best beer we could get in Oxford, MS...which doesn’t say too much, but I really feel like it’s not a great wheat beer. Too sour, not bright at all. Kills Blue Moon, and is as good as Hoegaarden, but take that however you want.

Jul 15, 2006 On Tap. Pours a nice light amber with a decent medium head. Taste was smooth with a hint of citrus. A nice beer that I will most definately recommend and also drink again.

Jun 19, 2006 This was in no way a hefe. This was filtered and advertised as such. However, I thought it was very well done with a nice tongue feel and some nice underlying bananas, etc.

Jun 11, 2006 Color was on the deeper side for a German Hefe (a slight bit more amber tone to it than others of its class). Bummer that this was filtered. These Lazy Mags haven’t hit on appearance (but were quite enjoyable otherwise). No head and lacing was miserable (way out of character for Hefe). I thought to myself, boy, this isn’t going to be good if it really is a wheat beer. However, the flavor was outstanding, coriander, some orange peels, other light citrus, even some cloves, all over top of the wheat (any candi sugar? this almost tasted like a Wit). Near mid-glass the alcohol also became detectable, leading me to think this was higher than average. Solid mouthfeel and somewhat sweet overall flavor.

May 21, 2006 This refreshing wheat has interesting fruit flavors. A little on the sweet side and very smooth. I recommend it to anyone visiting Mississippi.

May 5, 2006 Nice golden appearance with decent body and sort of a fizzy head that disappears quickly. Wheat beers aren’t my favorites, but this is good. It’s got bite, but still smooth. Nice hops flavor with hints of something sweet in the background. As far as wheat beers go, this is good.
