Mouth feel is good; kind of dry. I really liked this beer. Flavor wise, this compares favorably with the good European weiss beers. The Lazy Magnolia people have definitely impressed me with this one. shrubber85 (2966), Wallhalben, Germany

Nice big aroma - wheat malt, ripe bananas, apples and cloves. Clear light amber color with nice big lacy white head - beautiful. Slightly sweet banana, clove and wheat malt flavor. Very nice full body unlike most Kristallweizens. Excellent example of the style - better than most you’ll find anywhere. Hinez57 (132), Clinton, Mississippi, USA

Sweet, almost bisquit malt undertones aroma with just a hint of sourness on the nose. Nice slightly amber color, poor head. Flavor was very good. Probably sweeter than most wheat beers. I get light wheat flavor, nice light malty profile (more so than any other wheat beer I’ve had), and mild fruityness. Palate is solid, nice mouthfeel, clean finishing. Overall a very drinkable beer. To bad this is discontinued, it was LM’s best effort! biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

This is a fine example of a Kristal Weizen. Poured an attractive gold with creamy white head that it didnt retain. Lacing was minimal. Good mouthfeel. Tasted a bit like a witbier to me. Carbonation was perfect and it disguised its alcohol content well (5.7 abv). Flavor has notes of honey and citrus. Good beer. JJClark (546), Roscoe, Illinois, USA

Taste was smooth with a hint of citrus. A nice beer that I will most definately recommend and also drink again. eaglefan538 (2399), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Color was on the deeper side for a German Hefe (a slight bit more amber tone to it than others of its class). Bummer that this was filtered. These Lazy Mags haven’t hit on appearance (but were quite enjoyable otherwise). No head and lacing was miserable (way out of character for Hefe). I thought to myself, boy, this isn’t going to be good if it really is a wheat beer. However, the flavor was outstanding, coriander, some orange peels, other light citrus, even some cloves, all over top of the wheat (any candi sugar? this almost tasted like a Wit). Near mid-glass the alcohol also became detectable, leading me to think this was higher than average. Solid mouthfeel and somewhat sweet overall flavor. A little on the sweet side and very smooth. I recommend it to anyone visiting Mississippi. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 25, 2005 The description on their website was written before they got their beers on the market. In the end, they decided to filter this and make it a kristalweizen for reasons such as keeping the yeast from scaring people away and issues with the yeast settling in the keg. Still, it’s a tasty little beer with respectable bubblegum esters. It’s on the darker side of the weizen group, but nothing so dark as to kick it out of style.
